Why: The mission of the Indiana Master Naturalist program is to bring together natural resource specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils, and wildlife, and promote natural resource volunteer service within the State of Indian

What: Indiana Master Naturalist Classes


Why: The mission of the Indiana Master Naturalist program is to bring together natural resource specialists with adult learners to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils, and wildlife, and promote natural resource volunteer service within the State of Indiana. 


When: Classes will be held on Sundays beginning March 15 through May 31, except for Easter, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day weekend. Class times will be 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  


Where: Classes will meet at the Mounds State Park Nature Center. After the meeting, most classes will then use the park as an outdoor laboratory for learning. Students will be hiking, climbing stairs, and possibly romping in creeks. Please contact the Friends of Mounds State Park (friendsofmounds@gmail.com) prior to registering if you have mobility concerns.


How: Cost for the class is $125.00, which will cover all class materials and instruction. In order to become certified, participants must attend 80% or better of the scheduled classes and volunteer a minimum of 30 hours at a local, county or state natural resource agency or organization. TO OFFICIALLY REGISTER, please complete the form linked below this section and send the completed form to friendsofmounds@gmail.com.  Include a copy of your payment receipt from the online portal or your check number that you have dropped off at the Mounds State Park Office.
